What temperature can NanoSlic stand up to?
NS100 series and NS200 series, NS 605 can operate between room temperature and about 350oF continuously and up to 450oF intermittently.
Will NanoSlic work underwater?
Yes, cured NanoSlic coatings will function underwater. NS200 is the preferred coating for spray-on applications. For wipe-on applications, NS 1500 and NS 1500 Xtreme are the choices.
Can NanoSlic be used outside?
Yes. In most cases, NS200 would be the choice because it is more flexible and stands up to humidity, UV light, and temperature variations better. NS200 is the preferred coating for spray-on applications. For wipe-on applications, NS 1500 and NS 1500 Xtreme are the choices.
What color is NanoSlic?
NS110 and NS200 are clear, transparent coatings with a slight gloss.
NS220 is transparent with a matte finish. NS100 and NS200 can be tinted with various dyes to make different transparent colors to match customer specifications. Other pigmented, opaque colors may be available. For wipe-on applications, NS 1500 and NS 1500 Xtreme are totally clear.
What is the difference between NS110 and NS200 NanoSlic?
NS200 is more flexible than NS110. NS200 has less gloss than NS110. NS200 would be the choice for outdoor applications or other applications that are subject to humidity, UV light, and temperature variation.
Is NanoSlic permanent?
Yes. NanoSlic coatings are designed to be permanent. To be fully removed chemical stripping or physical sanding will be necessary.
Can NanoSlic be removed?
Yes. To be fully removed chemical stripping or physical sanding will be necessary.
Is NanoSlic an electrical insulator?
Yes. Because of its silicon-based polymer, NanoSlic coatings provide excellent electrical insulation. Additional information is available upon request.
How hard is NanoSlic?
When fully cured, NS100 series and NS200 series, NS 605 develop 9H pencil hardness according ASTM specification D 3363.
Does NanoSlic have good adhesion?
Yes. NS100 series and NS200 series, NS 605 develop 5B adhesion according to ASTM specification D 3359 Cross-Hatch.
How thick is NanoSlic?
NanoSlic coatings are typically applied 2-4 micron dry film thickness when sprayed. NS 1500 and NS 1500 Xtreme wipe-on coatings are approximately 200 nanometers per layer (multiple layers can be stacked if desired.)
Does NanoSlic work in high humidity?
Yes, In most cases NS200 would be the choice because it is more flexible and stands up to humidity, and temperature variations better. NS200 is always preferred for outdoor applications. For wipe-on applications, NS 1500 and NS 1500 Xtreme are the choice and operate well on outdoor applications.
Is NanoSlic a thermal insulator?
Yes. Because of its silicon-based polymer, NanoSlic coatings provide excellent thermal insulation. Additional information is available upon request.
Will NanoSlic prevent corrosion?
Yes. Because of its hydrophobic properties and silicon-based polymer, NanoSlic coatings provide excellent corrosion protection over most metallic surfaces. Additional information is available upon request.
Is NanoSlic resistant to ultraviolet light?
NS 200, NS 605, NS 1500 and NS 1500 Xtreme products are ultraviolet resistant in outdoor environments.
Does NanoSlic protect from ultraviolet light?
See the NS 605 Technical data sheet for information.
